Green Acres Manor News - Winter 2014
As we are nearing the end of another year here at Green Acres, I want to thank everyone for trusting in us, for your support of what we do, and your participation in the care of your loved ones. I believe this is a special place, and it takes all of us to make it so. I wanted to thank everyone for a wonderful Thanksgiving day and weekend. I saw so many of you here enjoying time with your loved ones and us. That's such a joy for me to see all the smiles. There's also a big thank you to those who prepared our meal in Maria and Monica. They do such a great job.
I want to remember those who we have lost this year, and especially just lately losing three residents in Patricia Thorsen, Francoise Sobin, and RIna Pacini. It's always hard to lose someone. Each person we have here has a unique personality and melds with the group in different ways. We do have two new folks with us now. Margaret Jenks and Rosemarie Pressler have both moved in recently and we are all getting to know each other better. Both are very sweet ladies.
Christmas is just around the corner. It's hard to believe that we are already in December. On Christmas day, we have a gift opening celebration at 10am that you are all invited to. If you have gifts for your loved ones, this is the time that we open them as a big group. We always have little gifts for everyone as well so everyone has something. Monica makes for a great Mrs. Clause! We'll have hot cider and snacks at that time. We'll have lunch at our normal time of noon and I think we'll do a pork roast this year. Please let me know if you plan to attend the gift opening or lunch so we can plan accordingly. Also, if you plan to take your loved one out for the day, please let us know.
I will be taking my normal trek down to our home in Mexico starting this week, December 4-19. Monica will be here during this time. The staff all has their normal roles while Debbie and Isabel take more of a lead. If there is anything that you need, please contact one of them via phone here at Green Acres. I will still be checking emails, but not as often as normal. I do like feedback from families for the time that I am on vacation. I want to know that Green Acres is running the same when I'm here or not!
My outdoor project time seems to have come to an end. As usual, I never get everything I want done! I will start up again in the spring. My attention at this time of year turns back to the inside of the house with touch up painting and more preventative maintenance and or replacing older items plus the large task of filing. We create so much paperwork that needs to be saved.
Take care, and we'll see you all soon!
