Green Acres Manor News - May 2009
Are we officially into summer yet? It seems like it with the beautiful weather we've been blessed with. The garden is growing by leaps and bounds. We have already had some very sweet and great tasting strawberries. There are also many things forming out there in the new vegetable garden. It won't be long before we are enjoying fresh, seasonal, great tasting vegetables and fruits.
Just in case any of you haven't heard, there has been a flu going around that has garnered quite a bit of attention in the media. We have not had any issues here at Green Acres Manor, but wanted to remind everyone of a couple of our house rules that help protect our residents from viruses like the flu. A very simple one is to not visit us if you know you are sick or have flu like symptoms. We ask that everyone rinse there hands with our anti-bacterial hand sanitizer upon entering the house and when leaving. This is a great way to help prevent the spread of bacteria and viruses. I have also posted a memo from the Sonoma County Public Health on ways to prevent the spread of the flu. You can also go to there website at www.sonoma-county.org/publichealth. You can also find information at www.cdc.gov. Thank you for helping us keep a healthy and safe living environment for our loved ones.
You can all have the opportunity to see our beautiful gardens at our 4th Anniversary Celebration next month. We will celebrate our fourth year in business on Saturday, June 13th. All are welcome from 11am until 2pm. Lunch will be served at noon. We also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our vendors who have helped us create the wonderful business we have today. Please RSVP with me before June 6th. Thank you, and I hope to see you all there.
We have a few birthdays coming up in the month of June. Howard will celebrate his 82nd birthday on June 6th. Vivian will celebrate a very special mild stone in her 90th birthday on June 19. Our very own Maria will celebrate her birthday on June 22nd. Please help me in wishing all of them a very happy birthday!
Lastly, I'd like to introduce a new employee to you all. Maria A. has joined us this past month. She has great experience in caring for needs of the elderly and has performed very well through her training period. She will be a great addition to our team and family.
That's about it for now. Take care, and I hope to see you soon.
