Green Acres Manor News - January 2011
Happy New Year to all of our friends,
We at Green Acres hope that you all had a very pleasant ringing in to the 2011 new year. It was very quite around here...no resident parties broke out! We did enjoy a sparkling toast at dinner, however, and discussed what we were thankful for, and we even had a few new years' resolutions. We all want to live longer and be healthier!
Well, so far, it has been a very cold and wet winter. As I write this today, however, we are enjoying a nice sunny day. We actually had lunch outside yesterday and may do the same today. It sure does make a big difference to be able to get outside for the fresh air and sunshine. It's also nice to take longer walks and to see what's happening in the gardens. As much as I know we need the rain, I really hope we can have a balance with some more of these nice sunny days. Let's all say a little prayer!
There is not really a whole lot else to tell this month. It is a quite month. We are focused on keeping everyone healthy and trying to prevent any illnesses. There are no birthdays or other celebrations in January. We do have a couple coming up in early February, though. We have Ruth who will be celebrating her 88th birthday on February 6th, and Connie celebrating her 97th on the 9th. Sandwiched between those two residents, Isabel will celebrate her birthday on the 8th. It looks like we'll be eating a lot of cake and ice cream that week!
Let's all hope that we can have a happy and healthy 2011, that we can all achieve any resolutions we committed to , and that we help make others' lives better in some way. We can all do an extra good deed here and there. Take care, and we'll see you all soon.
