Green Acres Manor News - January 2008
Happy New Year!
I'm sure you're asking yourself why you're getting another newsletter so soon. Well,
I've decided to try to get the newsletters out at the end of the month versus during the
first two weeks of the next month. This way you all will know of upcoming events and what
has happened in the past month.
I have to be honest, this month was relatively quiet. There are no resident or staff
birthdays to report. With the weather being cold and rainy we've been doing a lot of
indoor activities such as movies, cards, bingo which is always a favorite, indoor walks
and range of motion exercise. The residents have enjoyed the few sunny days with outdoor
walks as well as sitting in the sun absorbing its rays.
February should be an exciting month. The residents and I have decided to adopt the 3rd
grade class at Kenwood elementary. What that means for us is that we will be making
Valentines and cookies for each student. Some of the residents will bring these items to
the classroom and present them to the students. We feel that this will be mutually
beneficial for all involved.
The house and the residents' rooms will be decorated using crafts that the residents
have made during the next few weeks.
We'd like to invite you to have lunch with us on February 14th so that you may celebrate
Valentine's Day with your loved one. Please let me know if you will be joining us or taking
your loved one out so that we can make menu adjustments.
Some housekeeping items to remember. Please remember to park on the right side of the
driveway as you enter through the gate. Please do not park under the willow tree next to
the fire hydrant. In addition please sign the visitors log when you arrive and leave. It's
located in the foyer under the bulletin board where the most recent pictures and
newsletters are. The signing of the visitors log is very important so that if there is an
emergency we know who is in the home or who is not. Thank you for your attention to these
items.
Have a wonderful month filled with health, happiness and love.
