Green Acres Manor News - February 2011
Well...after having a couple of nice weeks of sunny weather, we are back to the cold and rain that we know so well. I guess we should feel fortunate for the time that we had. It sure was nice to be outside with the residents.
Speaking of our residents...we have welcomed a new resident to our Green Acres family. Her name is Marjorie. She is 97 years young, and has lived in the Sonoma/Santa Rosa area for quite some time. She is a very sweet lady whom we hope will feel at home here very soon. It's always hard adapting to new environments and people. Think about the last time you moved or changed jobs. It takes a little time, but helps when we all help in the process and reach out. I know you will all make Marjorie and her family very welcome here.
We also have a new employee who has joined us. Her name is Kacey. She has worked in many different capacities in the health care field including care giving and being a volunteer EMT. I'm sure she will make a great addition to our staff. We are also losing an employee and friend. Julio will be leaving us to move to Utah to be with his wife, daughter, and new granddaughter. His five years of service here has been invaluable and he will be sorely missed.
There is one big birthday this month of March. Debbie is celebrating a milestone...but I won't tell you which one! Her birthday is on March 1. She will be taking the week off, so be sure to wish her well before or after.
I think that is all that I have to report. Let's hope we continue to get the rain we need without flooding anywhere. The cold also helps prevent bud burst in vineyards, which is good for those of us growing grapes. Always look at the glass half full! Take care.
