Green Acres Manor News - February 2008
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I hope you all had a very pleasant Valentine’s Day. We did! We had a great time on Wednesday February 13th we had the 3rd grade class from Kenwood Elementary School come and visit for Valentines Day. According to Joe it was very cute to see the Kenwood Fire department stop traffic on Highway 12 so the children could walk across the street. The residents signed Valentines and attached lollipops to them for the children. They also made and decorated cookies for the children to enjoy during their visit. The children made Valentines for each resident and presented each one with two or more Valentines. They enjoyed sharing refreshments and quality time with each other. If you’d like to see pictures from this event they will be on our website soon. Please visit www.greenacresmanorsonoma.com.
I’d like to introduce our newest employee to you all. You may have seen her around and maybe you’ve already introduced yourself. Her name is Fawn. She has been a caregiver for the past year in and around Sonoma County. She will be working in the mornings for us. If you haven’t already met her, please introduce yourself. Help us welcome her to our home the next time you see her.
Thanks to Joe, in the next few years we hope to enjoy fresh berries and fruits from our newly planted vines, bushes and trees along the front fence as you enter the property. He decided to plant blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, an Asian pear tree, a plum tree and a cherry tree so that we may add more fresh homegrown items to our menu.
As you may have heard, I took a job offer from Sutter VNA and Hospice. The job opportunity fell into my lap in late January and I decided to accept the offer earlier this month. I’ll be doing Physical Therapy in a home health setting which is perfect for me. Joe and I will be sharing the Administrator duties with me planning on being here on Fridays and throughout the weekend. You can still come to me with questions or concerns. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays Debbie will be here and you’ll find she is a valuable resource for questions as well. Joe plans on being here on various days during the week.
