Green Acres Manor News - December 2010
Happy New Year!
It appears that this new year of 2010 will be a very wet one. It reminds me a little of our first year here and the winter of 2006. Hopefully we won't experience the same flooding that we did then in the area.
We had a wonderful Christmas here this year. I was fortunate enough to have my mom, brother and niece join us for a few days. We then thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas morning with all of the residents and families that came to join us. That is always such a special time for Monica and me. We really appreciate our job, and just love to see the happiness on everyone's face. We also appreciate and want to thank all of our employees who were here that day and sacrificed time with family to be here with our residents. We also want to thank all of our employees for doing the great job that they do day in and day out throughout the year.
We will not be celebrating any birthdays this month, but we do have one for February. Miss Connie will be celebrating her 96th birthday on February 9th. We will also try and have a special day planned for Valentine's Day on Sunday, February 14th for all you lovers out there. Let us know if you have any plans to take any of our residents out for this very special day.
There is not too much else exciting to report on this month. We'll hunker down until there is some better weather.
I do want to thank all of our families. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to do what we do here at Green Acres. It has been a very special experience especially for me to be able to care for all the residents that we have now and have had in the past. We appreciate your trust in us in our love and care of your family members. We know that we are not perfect, and sometimes make mistakes, but to be able to deal with the great families that you all are and have your understanding of the difficulty of what we do and the high standards we create is reassuring. We appreciate and thank you all.
Until we meet again, take care.
