Green Acres Manor News - April 2007
Hello to everyone
Happy Easter to everyone!
I hope everyone had as joyful an Easter holiday as we all did here at Green Acres Manor. What a beautiful day it turned out to be. We had a delicious honey baked ham for lunch with some yummy Easter treats that Monica had made for everyone. I have never seen so many clean plates before! And guess what happened to the left over ham…Lori made a wonderful bean and bacon soup. I hope you all know that if you are ever in the area visiting and want to eat here, you are more than welcome. Just give us a jingle. We and our residents would love the company.
We have another project that was completed this past month, past week actually. The long hallway where rooms 6-12 are, was painted. We also have put up quite a few new pictures and rearranged the furniture a little. If you don’t always go down that hallway, treat yourself the next time you stop in. It looks great! Monica has also been very busy in the garden. All the herbs are planted in the herb garden. There are strawberries in multiple pots out back. Tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and peppers have all been planted. We are also working on replacing some of the plants that we lost during the winter due to frost.
We do have some sad news to report. Marie Smith was called back to her creator this past week. She was 93. Her bright, cheery face will be dearly missed. Our condolences to her husband Charlie, and her children Sharon and Charlie. We’ll miss having you here with our family as well. It was our pleasure to help care for Marie this past year. Thank you for all you have contributed.
There are no birthdays for the month of April for us. Darn…no birthday cake this month! My vacation was very relaxing. I spent a week in Mexico with some friends. It’s Monica’s turn in May. We’ll have to see who has the better tan after she returns!
That’s about it, I guess. Take care everyone.
